I stumbled on an Audio Book about Art
Since Audio books are high on portable, but you don't see a lot of audio books on art I had to point this one out when I stumbled on it. Arts and Crafts in the Middle Ages a free audio book. Yes it is also historical in nature. I also found it available in other formats at Amazon.com

Here is another craft/art/hobby resource for Fabric arts, from clothing, and household items, to wall hangins and tapestry, they have supplies and ideas. Note that actual craftwork and artwork in this
medium can usually be considered portable enough for many types of travel. And it is time preoccupying :)

Artist creates giant metal sculptures in California desert
I've encountered a few open air collections of sculptures. Working in metal is not a cheap medium
but it is surely impressive and durable.
If you are interested in this art form I found this page referencing sculpting as a career including metal sculpture.

OK this topic had to come up in the Craft category. Yes you perform your craft because you love it, but also it consumes your time hoping your products are worth the money and time you put into them. The key to making this so is running your hobby like a proper craft business. In keeping with out theme, here's an audio book to help you figure that part out. SOmething you can learn ON THE GO!
